An amp tweakers’ delight
The GH100R gives something back to the modern guitar player that for too many years has been overlooked. In a world obsessed by pre-amp distortion, the dark art of power amp distortion has been lost – until now. The GH100R delivers transparent, versatile classic rock tones with the ability to blend in the dynamic characteristic of pre-amp distortion and power amp distortion right there at your fingertips. Both channels on the GH100R produce the same tonal characteristic but how you set them up gives you the subtle difference that tone hounds dream about. This is the ‘amp tweakers’ delight! Whether it’s funk or melodic rock, whether you’re a hybrid picker or a shredder, the GH100R delivers outstanding, dynamic, complex, harmonically rich controllable tone.

Joining the top of the Laney tube guitar amplifier range is the all new GHR series.
GHR has grown from Laney’s continuous study of how guitar players want to interact with tube amplifiers. “Tube amp tone” comprises what Laney have come to describe as RED and BLACK tone elements:
RED is tube preamp distortion, in which additional ECC83 preamp tubes add drive. This has been the preoccupation of many important amps in Laney’s history - such as the KLIPP, AOR, TI and of course the original GH series.
BLACK is output tube distortion, which increases as the power tubes are driven harder as the amp is cranked up: In recent times Laney has focussed on the “Dark Art” of output distortion using smaller output powers in the Lionheart and CUB models and also “Vari-watt” tube attenuation in the Ironheart series.
The all new GHR allows the player to blend and balance these RED and BLACK elements controlling both preamp tone across two channels and balancing the Master Output to seek the sweet spot in each player’s personal setup: This is the Tonehound’s new go-to amp!
